Pittsburgh has three light rail lines operated by the Port Authority of Allegheny County (PAT; http://www.portauthority.org/, which also operates regional bus service), two cable-driven inclines (the Monongahela Incline operated by PAT; and the Duquesne Incline, operated by a preservation group). Three rush hour weekday lines are planned for operation beginning March 2005. South of Pittsburgh (at Arden) is the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, incorporating a segment of the original Pittsburgh Railways interurban line to Washington, PA. All light rail and the museum streetcar lines use streetcar broad gauge. One non-revenue PAT branch line is the Drake test track (former 47D which connects to 42S near Dorchester Station). A map of the light rail service is here.

In the past, Pittsburgh had a large PCC operation, and in fact only as recently as 1999 did it retire the last of the PCC cars from service. Photos of the PCC cars in locations still served by the light rail trains are mixed in with the light rail photos; more can be found on their own page.
