New Jersey Transit

New Jersey Transit Rail Operations was created as New Jersey Transit's operational arm for commuter railroad service in the State of New Jersey, assuming control of Conrail's New Jersey commuter operations in 1983. Today, New Jersey Transit Rail Operations serves 148 stations in New Jersey, 12 in New York State (some under contract to Metro-North), and one in Pennsylvania; transporting over 47 million passengers per year over 972 route miles of track.
